Flashback Chapter 2 part 1

Flashback chapter 2:
      The Reunion, Old Friends, new Rivals..

Running, panting, and sweating.
"Gotta keep running....Gotta keep running.." was all that was going through the young mixbreed female, holding her lovers hand, running as fast as they could through the collapsing temple, blood running down their flesh at a rapid speed, a monstrous roar could be heard behind them, something was chasing them through this falling temple.
"Safaia....you go on without me...I..I'll hold her back..." he said this, as he felt his body grow weaker.
"No! I don't want to lose you, Diablo...we..we just have to keep going...will make it out of this...together.." she said in a hoarse tone.
He could only look down as they ran, side by side, holding each others hands.
Another viscous roar came from behind them, as a large demonic python was now noticeable, she striked with great speed, straight at them. Luckily, they both jumped, the beast barely missed them and ended up smashing her head against the temples walls, casing the walls around them to crack more, the ceiling collapsing down upon them, the floor itself crumbling into nothing.
As the two lovers ran, the floor infront of them caved in, a large gaping trench like hole, leading down to the next level of the temple.
"Safaia, maybe I can fly us over it-"
"No!" was her immediate reply.
Diablo's wings have been severely damaged, one ripped clean off, the blood rapidly going down his back.
"But..."
"We can't...jump..."
"Jump!?"
"Jump!"
They never stopped running, they nearly ran out of time to do it, jumping at the same time, their grip on each others hands tightening slightly, the other side seemed so far, would they make it?
They both made it on their tippy-toes on the other side, dangerously close to the edge, their hearts were accelerating, keeping their balance on the edge, trying to keep running without falling back.
Crack....Crumble....Break....
Safaia screamed as Diablo gasped, the edge couldn't support their weight and they were plummeting downwards into the darkness. Diablo only held Safaia's hand tighter, screaming "Hold on!" latching his claws onto the edge of the crumbling floor, panting.
Safaia, helplessly dangled in the air, her grip tightening as well, looking down at the nothingness, she couldn't even see the lower region of the temple, maybe it crumbled away?
Holding on for their lives, they heard more cracking sounds, and to top it off, the demon was closing in on them. They were perfect targets..
Diablo, using all of his strength pulled Safaia up first, panting quietly.
Once up Safaia, immediately reached her hand down. :Come on, Diablo...we have to hurry.." panic was heard in her voice.
The demon was on the other side, but no matter, with her large body size, she could reach over to them, snatch them up in her mouth and pull back in a second, the demon striked quickly towards them.
"Come on, Diablo, grab my hand!"
Diablo looked down a bit, seeing the demon approaching, he wanted Safaia to be safe, nothing else.
"I love you..Safaia...Be safe, baby..."
With that he blew her a kiss with his free hand, and released the edge plummeting downwards, having a smile on his face as he fell to the bottom, the demon took noticed and immediately stretched down after him, snarling.
"Diablo!"
The ceiling collapsed more and more, Safaia had to back away, as the ceiling was coming down more violently, now blocking her path to Diablo, the floor crumbling more.
"No...Diablo..please..don't leave me.."
They said they would be together always, forever...forever isn't as long as it use to be...

"Safaia...?"
The young female opened her eyes, she was laying on her bed, looking up at the handsome, dark grey male beside her, she whispered "Your back..I..thought I lost you..." she softly took his hand.
The male smiled. "I thought I lost you too...a lot has changed since we last saw each other...what happened back there?" he asked with concern.
"I..forgot to take my medicine....ever since Pandora took over...Blackberry and I's demon has been trying to take over, but Vixen made us medicine to help us keep it together.." she made a weak smile, gazing at him softly, but that smile soon faded.
"How is...Jasmine...?"
"She's doing better, Vixen is doing recovery on her, she says she'll be back on her feet in no time." he smiled, but soon frowned and looked away, all he could think about is how Blackberry acted towards him, he let out a soft sigh
"What...happened to Blackberry?"
Safaia blinked but soon looked away and whispered "She lost Thunder...her whole world was crushed...she...she changed since he disappeared..."
"Disappeared..?" Diablo questioned.
"Yeah...we don't know if he is dead...or alive...we could never find him.."
Diablo began to worry.
"What about my brother..?!"
She made a soft weak giggle, but it sounded so sad, nearly pathetic.
"He's alive...." her voice trailed off.
"But...?"
"He is a viscous demon..working for Pandora...heh..Vixen was devastated, she tried talking to him..but he didn't listen..his only thoughts was to obey Pandora...and to kill us all..."
Diablo's eyes widened, and weld up with tears, he clenched his fist and looked away.
"Damn her..."
"I'm sorry..." she weakly pulled Diablo down, making him face her, and tenderly wiping away his tears, she softly kissed him, trying to comfort him.
Diablo let out a soft moan, loving the comfort he was getting from his lover, softly kissing her back in relief that he at least still had her...
